The submitted manuscripts will be screened initially by the chief editors to determine their suitability.
The Editorial Advisory And Review Board will then review the manuscripts. |
English Language Editing
MAR emphasizes on the linguistic accuracy of every manuscript published. Thus, all authors are required to get their manuscripts edited by professional English language editors. Author(s) must confirm that their manuscripts have been adequately edited. A proof (in a form of certificate/ written statement) from recognised editing service provider should be submitted together during the submission to MAR. All costs will be borne by the author(s). This step, taken by authors before submission, will greatly facilitate reviewing, and thus publication if the content is acceptable.
Publication Ethics
Submission of an article implies that:
The work described has not been published previously except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis.
That it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
That its submission and publication in the journal is known and approved by all Authors.
The work is the Author’s own and there are no falsification or fabrication of data, plagiarism including duplicate publication of the authors’ own work without proper citation and misappropriation of the work are all unacceptable practices. |
Please also refer to the journal’s ethical statement, https://mar.uitm.edu.my/index.php/ethical-statement

What you can expect next
An email will be sent to you, confirming your successful submission. It will provide you with a manuscript number, which will be used in all future correspondence about your submission. The authors are expected to include the manuscript ID in future communication. Kindly be informed that the whole process will take around three (3) to eight (8) months for a paper to be accepted for publication.
Post submission
Review and decision process
Each submission is checked by the editor. At this stage, the editor will choose to decline or unsubmit your manuscript if it doesn’t fit the journal aims and scope, or they feel the language/manuscript quality is too low.
If it might be suitable for the publication, the manuscript will be sent to at least two independent referees for double blind peer review. Once these reviewers have provided their feedback, the editor may decide to accept the manuscript, request minor or major revisions, or decline the manuscript.
During this period, the author may check the progress of the manuscript via the submission system. An email will be sent to the author once the decision is made for author’s revision. Once the manuscript is accepted, the author will also receive an email for final check before the manuscript can proceed with the copyediting.
Kindly be informed that the whole process will take around three (3) to eight (8) months for a paper to be accepted for publication. Due to high volume of submission, the editor will try to provide their first decision within three (3) months.

Proofing and typesetting
The authors will receive an email with the final manuscript for final review. This should be checked for accuracy, for example whether contact and affiliation details are up to date and the details are spelled correctly. The author is also expected to correct any typographical errors, grammatical errors or incorrect author details. Any amendment request after this stage is no longer accepted.
Once the authors provide their final consent, the manuscript will be passed directly into the production process. When the page proofs are finalised, the proofed version is published online. It will be compiled into an issue according to the journal’s issue schedule, with papers being added by chronological date of publication.
